Since 2006, we are a dedicated group of veterans who provide strategic advocacy for its memberships - other veterans in creating positive lifestyles for themselves and their families. We are an official chapter of National Association for Black Veterans, Inc and we're helping veterans obtain services with the department Veteran Affairs based in the Bronx of NY City.
As veterans and family members of veterans, we know the difficulty in transitioning from active service to living an abundant and positive life. We work within the community to end homelessness, empower low-Income and minority veterans. We advocate with a national certified Veterans Service Organization to assist in claims to the United States Department of Veterans Affairs for the purpose of Benefits and Discharge Upgrade Services to our members.
We have collaborated with various organizations that promote positive lifestyles for African Americans including local chapters of the NAACP, churches and one distinctive organization, Veterans United for Community Services (VUCS). They have volunteered over 400,000 hours of community service, at least 70% of these hours dedicated to working with the youth. NABVETS 0029 supports outreach towards:
